Nicki is responsible for the overall management of the Michigan Boating Industries Association and spends much of her time working on legislation, education, boat shows, member priorities, and industry relations. Nicki served six years as a Governor appointed Michigan State Waterways Commissioner from 2012 – 2017. Nicki has a BA from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in marketing and management from Walsh College. Nicki joined the MBIA in 1988 and has served as Executive Director since 2012.

Bethany Sly

Bethany is in charge of the Exhibitor Sales for the MBIA's three shows - The Detroit Boat Show, Novi Boat Show and Metro Boat Show. Bethany has more than 13 years in sales experience and has a BA in Communications from the University of Michigan. Bethany joined the MBIA in 2012.

In addition, Kelly will support and promote current and future post-secondary Marine educational programs along with support professional development for the current workforce. Kelly has over 15 years experience in education and has a MA in Teaching and Learning from Madonna University. Kelly joined the MBIA in 2023. | | | |

Amanda Wendecker

Amanda manages the MBIA's communications, public relations, marketing, sponsorship, social media efforts, and websites. She also coordinates and manages Association meetings and the annual conference. Amanda graduated from Central Michigan University with a BAA in Integrated Public Relations. She joined the MBIA in 2008.

Tim Paul
Accountant and Foundation Administrator

Tim is responsible for the overall accounting of the association. His responsibilities include development of financial statements, related accounting functions and procedures, and accounts payable/receivable. He has just under 10 years of accounting experience spanning numerous industries, and a passion for technology. Tim graduated from the Frederik Meijer Honors College at Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s in finance and accounting. He joined the MBIA in 2024.
