The Landing School

Tuesday, May 8, 2018   (0 Comments)

Finding skilled workers has always been a challenge for the marine industry and seems to be especially so for many companies now that unemployment rates are at record lows. But you do have options. This Fall, why not build your capacity by sending a promising employee (or that summer employee who shows interest) to The Landing School? The Landing School is celebrating 40 years of leadership in the marine industry with educational programs in Wooden Boat BuildingComposite Boat BuildingMarine Systems and Yacht Design. Their ACCSC accredited 8-month programs begin in September and complete by early May so your employee will be back in time for the peak season. As the employee of a Michigan Boating Industry Association ¬≠¬≠member, each student you refer by May 31, 2018 is eligible for $500 off their tuition. They may also be eligible for other scholarships offered by the school. To nominate a candidate, register them here and indicate your name and "Michigan Boating Industry Association member" in the referral field, or have them start an application. To learn more about The Landing School and their graduates, contact Jamie Houtz, Director of Industry Relations.
