High water impact won’t deter the Metro Boat Show - The show will go on!

Commerce Twp., Mich., August 7, 2019 – The Michigan Boating Industries Association, producer of the 10th Annual Metro Boat Show at Lake St. Clair Metropark have been closely monitoring water levels, and report – the show will go on, September 12-15! This year the show is expanding again, keeping the main Boardwalk on the water through the entire show. Because of its growing size, show management is providing a free trolley service for boaters along the show perimeter.

“High water levels have been a big story across the Great Lakes all summer,” said MBIA Executive Director and Show Manager Nicki Polan, “We are currently 6 weeks from show open and feel the levels will continue to decrease and will have minimal if any impacts on the show come September 12.  If for some reason we have issues to address, we have our plan in place and will be ready to adjust.”

“We are celebrating our 10th anniversary of producing the show with a bigger and better event again this year,” said Polan.

“Boats are the big attraction at the show, with boats potentially up to 60-feet. We see more large cruisers, yachts, and sailboats at this event because it’s easier for dealers to transport bigger boats by water,” New 2020 model introductions debut at the show, and the end of the season pricing on current inventory make this a great place to purchase a boat.

“This boat show is important to both buyers and sellers in this region. Fall in-water shows are known for high sales volume around the country and Michigan is the 3rd largest marine market in the country,” said President of Colony Marine Pete Beauregard, Jr., who also Chair’s the MBIA Boat Show Committee. “Additionally, for boaters, the atmosphere of the boat show along Lake St. Clair is an attraction in itself, with boats in the water and on-land, live entertainment, beer tents, and fun with the boating community. The show is a great time whether you’re in the market for a new boat, want to see what’s coming for next year, or just want to spend a great day near the water!”
